Like Too Late for Tuscany, I have noticed that the pace of blogging has slowed down considerably among the expat bloggers in Italy as the summer progresses and the hot weather continues. I know what it is like – I’ve been on holiday and keeping the site updated is not easy when dealing with the slow broadband speeds in rural Italy! Nevertheless, there are some really interesting posts this week.
Bleeding Espresso’s moving story of her friendship with William, an Englishman, who owned a house in the same area as hers, is a wonderful read. Do read it to find out what happens to William’s piccolo paradiso and how Bleeding Espresso’s blog leads to a meeting with his daughter after his death.
“I’m a gondalier, first and foremost” says Giorgia on Living Venice’s blog. Living Venice highlights the media challenges facing Venice’s female gondalier in these two posts.
Torino Daily Photo has a wonderful moody sunset photo and Livorno Daily Photo spots the sailor with an iPod at the end of the bowsprit of the Italian Navy’s tall ship, Americo Vespucci.
No roundup would be complete without something on Italian food, and this week’s pick must go to Love Sicily’s 4th of July homage to American Sicilian cuisine and the recipes of Vincent Schiavelli.

What an informative blog you have created! Complimenti! I just discovered you from Laura of Ciao Amalfi…thanks for including me on your blog list!
